I’m off island on my 2nd Annual road trip with my mom to visit my family up north. We are in New England celebrating my Aunt’s 80th
birthday. This is the wonderful beach house in Watch Hill , RI that one of my very dear friend’s just recently completed a major renovation and decoration.
Best of all, the house is a true home , complete with their own yellow lab who happily posed for a picture! Isn’t this beautiful? Notice the view from the window- yes, that is the ocean… every room has a great view! enjoy!

I love Watch Hill ! A perfect setting with the stately old houses overlooking the beautiful coastline.
A 90 minute drive from my Connecticut hometown, this was a favorite beach for my high school crowd.
During the summer, we'd gather at the crack of dawn . 6 or 8 of us would pile into my friend's big Olds Ninety Eight(pre seat belt law days), make a quick stop for donuts and coffee, then head for the beach.
We always brought along loads of sandwiches, soft drinks and my homemade chocolate chip cookies. Once at the beach we'd crank up the boom box and play in the waves until dusk. Those were the days……..
the best part is these are the days and you can still enjoy life that way! you just need to do it! This is my advice as I become more and more middle aged and know we have to grab those moments in life!
Diane..you bring back such memories of the year I lived in Newport right on the coast at Fort Adams. Macaroni, Carolyn Kennedy's pony lived in my back yard and the President had his "Summer White House", Hammersmith Farm, there. We also went to the beach every day when it was warm enough and built a fire when it wasn't. What a lovely corner of the world!Jolee and I went back a few Octobers ago and did the Cliff Walk..Have Fun.
