Mermen in Our Midst: Bryan Schroeder

Bryan and family at a past Oyster Roast!

If you know anything about Mermaid Cottages, you know we love giving back to our community. One way we do that is by working with the Georgia Conservancy. Well, in our time doing that, we make some pretty good friends along the way, and one such friend is Bryan Schroeder. Bryan the Stewardship and Outreach Director for the Georgia Conservancy, and he does an amazing job! We were chatting with Bryan about the up coming 2012 Oyster Roast and decided to ask Bryan what it is he loves about Georgia and her coast.

“I am a former Savannah resident; I lived on Anderson and Abercorn while my fiancé Danielle was getting her doctorate at Armstrong Atlantic. I currently live in midtown Atlanta. I certainly miss spending my mornings drinking sentient bean coffee and taking walks in Forsyth Park!

George, enjoying Forsyth Park!

Danielle and I both love the coast and have so much fun visiting with our dog, George! George is definitely the star in our family and the unofficial mascot of the Georgia Conservancy. He has been on my with trips from Cloudland Canyon to Ft. McAllister State Park, the site of our 2010 Oyster Roast. George will be greeting folks this year at the Georgia Conservancy’s Oyster Roast on March 3rd at Captain Butlers on Whitemarsh Island. We are so thankful for Mermaid Cottages donating the proceeds from visitors to the Oyster Roast to the Georgia Conservancy! It is going to make a huge impact!

We love visiting Tybee Island! The best thing about Mermaid Cottages is that they are affordable, well appointed and dog friendly! We can’t wait to be down there in just a few weeks!”

Thanks so much for sharing Bryan! We can’t wait to see you guys next weekend for all the oyster roast fun. It’s sure to be a huge success!
