This Summer has been so much fun we just don’t want to let it end. The Tybee Island Sea Kayak Races are coming up on September 12. 2015. Thankfully, the weather stays very mild down here and that means more fun for everyone! The races will shove off from A-J’s Dockside, 1315 Chatham Ave and proceeds will benefit the Tybee Island Marine Science Center. There will be three races with staggered start times:
- Tybee River Race: 6 1Ž2 miles on the tidal river separating Tybee and Little Tybee Islands.
- Little Tybee Challenge: 8 miles, circumnavigates part of Little Tybee Island.
- Race Across the River for Gold Sponsors: Our Gold sponsors compete for a grand prize.
Another great way to support the Tybee Island Marine Science Center is to become a race sponsor. Your race registration fee is included and you’ll get your name on the t-shirt and more! Bronze sponsor is $100; Silver sponsor is $250; Gold is $500 and Platinum $1000.

This is a gorgeous, pet friendly cottage with a large fenced yard. There’s a screened front porch with marsh views of our nightly marvelous sunsets and a garden!
Sea Stars Cottage circa 1932 Bedrooms: 3 Bathrooms: 2 Sleeps: 8 Pets: Cats, Dogs
This historic Tybee raised cottage is on the beach side of Butler Avenue and it’s just one block from the beach. Pets are welcome, as it has a fully fenced yard and you’ll love its wrap around porch with rocking chairs.
Sanford’s Place circa 1930 Bedrooms: 2 Bathrooms: 1 Sleeps: 4 Pets: Cats, Dogs
This little charmer was recently redecorated! It’s an original Tybee cottage from the 1930’s and it’s also pet friendly. It’s just two blocks to downtown Tybee’s shopping, restaurants and the fishing pier. It’s ideal for a small family, honeymooners and couples.
Paws and Paddles Bedrooms: 3 Bathrooms: 2 Sleeps: 6 Pets: Dogs
This is a pet lover’s dream! You’ll love the colors and the textures and you’ll also love that it’s located on Tybee’s north end, close to restaurants and shopping!
Inlet Seaclusion Bedrooms: 4 Bathrooms: 2.5 Sleeps: 9 Pets: Dogs
This is an elegant, yet affordable, dog-friendly raised Tybee cottage on the south end near the Back River! The Widow’s Walk gives you one of the best vantage points on the island to enjoy Tybee’s gorgeous sunsets! It’s just steps to a quiet, beautiful part of the beach, so remember to bring your camera!
