Some of you may remember a few years ago when there was a twig nest of green herons. I loved watching them as high up in the tree as they were. I know the sound of their bird calls so when riding my bike home from sea turtle patrol this week and heard their calls i looked up. There on the power lines were about 6 green herons. It’s hard to see them but they are there! I wish some mother green herons would nest in my yard next spring!

I know we sound like a broken record but this weather is incredible!!! Another day of 75 degree sunshine and blue skies and people enjoying the beach!!!!
Ok, the weather this weekend is going to be sunny bright and in the 70’s!!!! Just had to share!
I can’t explain why I love Sea turtles so much. But I just do. That’s the only reason I can get up once a week at 6AM and patrol the Tybee beaches looking for sea turtle tracks. We are having a record season on Tybee this year- 14 nests so far. This is a direct result of the Lights out for Sea Turtles education that we’ve been working with the residensts and visitors of Tybee. Thank you to everyone who helps keep the sky glow of Tybee to a bare minimum. The sea turtles and their babies appreciate the darkness!
