Our own Mermaid Mona shared this little beauty she just received. It’s Mona’s Christmas Mermaid!
“Check out this awesome handcrafted mermaid ornament my friend Elaine gave me today; isn’t she PERFECT!! She’s about to get a special place on my tree! Thanks so much Elaine! If you like her, check out the artist’s website: www.etsy.com/shop/sapeloriverdesigns”
About the artists, Bo and Morgen:
“In August of 2011, an introduction by the pianist at our church led to a personal and professional relationship which has encouraged us to explore our creative talents.
Bo uses wood, both harvested and found, to create beautiful pieces of furniture and home decor items. He also enjoys capturing local scenery with watercolors.
Morgen enjoys painting with acrylics, photographing the beautiful region in which they live, and creating whimsical items with polymer clay.”
We love learning about these wonderful artists from Darien, GA and we look forward to meeting more of their mermaids! Thanks to Mermaid Mona for sharing and y’all be sure to send your Mermaid Sightings to firstname.lastname@example.org. Mermaids add just the right touch to your holiday decorations!

We’ve got Mermaid Sightings in Tucson, Arizona! Jackie, one of our West Coast Mermaids-At-Large, spotted this all the way out west!
McNesby’s East Coast Super Subs in Tucson, AZ!
“This photo was taken in Tucson at a bar/restaurant called McNesby’s. It’s a Philadelphia place – the guy is a transplant and wanted to have a Philadelphia dive bar that makes great Philly cheese steaks (they are GREAT!) and feels like Jersey Shore (it does)….. And of course, when I saw this sign on the bathroom, I had to send it to you since you post photos of mermaids on your blog….. this one would be FABULOUS… lol…”
– Jackie C., Los Angeles CA
Thanks, Jackie! We’re sending coastal waves to our new friends at McNesby’s! We know Mermaids are everywhere, coast to coast! If you experience Mermaid Sightings be sure to email the photo(s) to email@example.com and you could be featured in a future blog post, too!
We love Mermaid Sightings and big girl dreams! Melissa S., one of our Florida Mermaids, discovered this wonderful blog called House of Estrogen. It’s a wonderful blog about raising a family and we particularly love the entries about the transformation of a little girl’s dreams into a big girl’s new bedroom.
“This My Big Girl Room!”
The transformation from nursery to big girl room is complete. While my heart aches that we’ll never have another little one in a crib, sanity takes over to remind me that we are COMPLETELY MAXED OUT – in energy, money, patience, and time. When I think about it that way, I’m thrilled to say BUH-BYE to all the baby gear. It is all going to a good home… to my housekeeper’s son and his girlfriend and their due-to-arrive-this-fall baby girl. – Ann and Addison, House of Estrogen… read more
Ride, Sea Hagg, Ride. Yes, even Sirens of the Sea need to peel pavement from time to time. The always fabulous Mary Kay Andrews spotted this set of Hot Wheels on a recent Florida trip. It’s our Mermaid Sighting for this week!
“I actually met the owner. She owns this crazy great shop in Cortez, just over the bridge from Anna Maria. Her boyfriend lives on Wilmington, and she shops at Seaside Sisters all the time!” –MKA… read more
Mermaids are everywhere! They’re in Annapolis, too! This week’s Mermaid Sightings come from Rhonda, our Mermaid friend in Maryland.
“I found these in Annapolis last week. The one with the tag is a fan for sale at Bed, Bath & Beyond. (They also had crab fans!).”
This beauty was spotted at Bed, Bath and Beyond!
“The other is the logo for a car wash.”
We even did a little checking and found that Maritime Autowash is a Best of Annapolis award winner! “Maritime Autowash is a full time carwash utilizing state of the art hybrid technology. We recycle 97% of our wash water and only use biodegradable detergents and waxes.” They’re a leader in environmental conservation, just like us!
Thanks to Rhonda for sharing these two sea gals with us. Remember, when you’re out and about and see a Mermaid, snap a photo and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. You and your Mermaid Sighting may be featured in an upcoming blog post!
Today’s Mermaid Sightings comes from our wonderful mer-friend, Ruth M.!
“We finally moved here! “Memories at the Beach” was the house that made me realize what kind of place I wanted here on Tybee. My mermaid is about 30 inches tall and hangs over the tub. Leslie Johnson of Lone Swan Design in Statesboro, GA made my mermaid for me! She’s a wonderful gift from my children!” – Ruth M., Tybee Island GA!… read more
