It’s time to hit the water, again, when Tybee floats for another great cause. Tybee Floatilla ‘Will Float for Friends’ on Sunday, August 24th. Plan to meet us over at the Alley 3 Kayak Launch at 2:00 p.m. We’ll shove off promptly at 2:30 p.m. and we’ll arrive at the Crab Shack by 6:00 p.m. This float will be in memory of Frank Schuman, Sr. benefitting the Fresh Air Home. Every summer the Fresh Air Home (FAH) opens its doors to hundreds of Savannah area children! The mission of the Home is to improve the health of the children, to build character, and to help them grow into better men and women — both physically and morally.

Have you made your plans to join us for the Tybee Floatilla Float For Food? Mermaids make a difference and we never miss an opportunity to volunteer and help our favorite causes. On Sunday, August 24th, air up those floats and inner tubes and join the fun as we help raise awareness for Second Harvest Food Bank and the Rising Tyde Food Bank. We’ll be shoving off from the Alley 3 Kayak area at 3:30 p.m. sharp and after enjoying the sun and the fun on the water we should end up at The Crab Shack at 6:30 p.m. All you have to do is register in advance and then enjoy this wonderful opportunity for Voluntourism. The dawg days of Summer are upon us and what better way to spend a Monday afternoon than floating down the river with 250 of your closest friends, relaxing, soaking up some rays of sunshine, and raising money for two great non-profits! The Tybee Service Industry Floatilla benefiting MADD “Mothers Agianst Drunk Driving” August 13 @ 11am at the Back River Alley III.
You MUST register for this event and there is a cap of 250 floaters allowed to attend. Registration begins June 1 on www.TybeeFloatilla.com

Grab your friends and come take a fun and relaxing float for history down the back river! The Tybee Floatilla invites you to join in this voluntourism event on Sunday, July 1st at 11:00 a.m. The floatilla will begin at Alley III and Chatham Avenue and it ends at The Crab Shack, with a short break on the Criminal Island Sandbar along the way.
To register and purchase tickets in person, visit The Crab Shack on Tybee or the Register Law Firm in Savannah. There, you will fill out a registration form and waiver and receive a koozie, rules and regulations and an entrance wrist band. You will receive a Floatilla t-shirt upon your arrival at The Crab Shack following the Float. TICKETS are $25 each.
