All of you art fans plunk down your beach towels and picnic baskets and prepare to be amazed. On Friday, May 1st, the annual SCAD Sand Arts Festival will showcase the sculptural talents of SCAD students, alumni and staff as they scramble to create temporary masterpieces in the Tybee Island sand. Presented by the SCAD School of Foundation Studies, this event features competitions in sand castle design, sand sculpture, sand relief and wind sculpture.
Tea Time is 4:15 p.m. at this lovingly restored historic home in Savannah. On Friday, May 1st, learn about tea traditions and experience an early 19th century tea in Davenport House’s beautiful courtyard garden. Patrons will visit areas of the home where tea service took place and then participate in an afternoon tea given with costumed interpreters in the garden.
