We believe that it’s important to give back to our community, and are active with a number of charitable projects. Here are some of our favorite causes and your rentals help support them, too!
Georgia Sea Turtles
Tybee Island is a nesting site for sea turtles, so we are involved in a number of programs dedicated to their protection. Check out the programs we support and how we participate, and help us do more by ordering some Mermaid Morning Bliss coffee!
Service Dogs
We are involved with two programs to help sponsor service and guide dogs. Learn more about these organizations and see our gallery of Mermaid-sponsored service dogs, and don’t forget to pick up some Beach Bum Biscuits to help support the cause!
Socially-responsible Vacations
Mermaid Cottages actively supports these and other local and charitable projects, but we make it possible for you to get involved more directly, as well! Through our “Mermaids Give Back” program, we help match cottage renters with local volunteer programs (such as with the Sea Turtle Program through the Marine Science Center). Participating in various local projects alongside our Mermaids and Mermen allows our guests to not only experience authentic activities, but also gives them the chance to leave the island a better place.
