Mary Kay Andrews By Candlelight

mary kay andrews by candlelightHow ’bout a Tybee Christmas with Mary Kay Andrews by candlelight?  Our favorite author’s Breeze Inn Cottage circa 1942 is available December 19-25 and it’s all gussied up for the holidays.  MKA herself has hung the tinsel and set the colored lights to shining and she’s even having a wonderful holiday giveaway with some of her other writer friends to help make your spirits bright!

A Few of Our Favorite Things” Giveaway

This Christmas, how would you like to receive eight books in the mail from eight of your favorite bestselling authors? What if each author also sent you a personal gift specially chosen just for you? Well, all eight of them have gotten together to offer their beloved readers the chance at winning (more than) a few of their favorite things. Enter to win by noon EST on Friday, December 19, 2014.  The group of authors will choose one winner at random who will receive a series of eight different packages in the mail—one package personally sent from each author containing their book plus their special gift to you. Fill out the simple entry form and submit by the deadline. One entry per person. Open exclusively to residents of the US. Good luck!

This Christmas, you could be getting one of Mary Kay Andrews’ lucky red currant aromatherapy candles in the mail along with a copy of Christmas Bliss.  “Christmas is coming, but Savannah antique dealer Weezie Foley is doubly distracted—both by her upcoming wedding to her longtime love, chef Daniel Stipanek and also by the fact that her best friend and maid-of-honor BeBe Loudermilk is due to give birth any day—and is still adamantly refusing to marry her live-in-love Harry. Readers have come to love these characters in Mary Kay Andrews’ three previous Savannah novels:  Savannah Blues, Savannah Breeze, and Blue Christmas.”

Now, we say you should go ahead and pile in the car, forward your mail to Tybee and just wait for the packages to start piling up at Breeze Inn.  MKA’s circa 1943 cottage is an easy two block walk to the 9th Street beach walk-over and an easy stroll to the grocery store and restaurants. Totally restored and remodeled in 2009, the Breeze Inn has three bedrooms and three baths, a cook’s kitchen and a comfy living space with flat-screen TV.  The shelves are full of the author’s books and other wonderful “beachy” reads and there’s a private screened back porch where you can sit and read or relax and listen to the sounds of Tybee in winter. The cottage is decorated from top to bottom by MKA herself with family-friendly vintage and antique treasures collected from estate sales and flea markets around the country.  You’ll also have another autographed MKA novel waiting for you along with a welcome note.

Save The Date For Joey’s Pawtograph

Save The Date for Joey's pawtographSave the date for Joey’s Pawtograph this week.  Yep, suave and de-boner Joey, aka the shop dog at Seaside Sisters, will be signing pawtographs to celebrate Mary Kay Andrew’s latest novel.  In Save The Date, “a wedding florist finds love and trouble in this delightful new novel by The New York Times bestselling author of Ladies’ Night.  A Savannah florist is about to score the wedding of a lifetime-one that will solidify her career as the go-to-girl for society nuptials. Ironically, Cara Kryzik doesn’t believe in love, even though she creates beautiful flower arrangements to celebrate them. But when the bride goes missing and the wedding is in jeopardy, Cara must find the bride and figure out what she believes in. Maybe love really does exist outside of fairy tales after all.”  Our pal Joey was the inspiration for a couple of the canine characters in the book and yes, his ruff-n-ready good looks do translate well to the written word.

Save The Date for Joey's Pawtograph

Joey’s time in the spotlight kicks off this Wednesday, July 2, from 1-4 p.m.  Be sure to grab some gelato from Sweetie Pie’s (YES, she’s OPEN!) while you shop and chat with Mary Kay Andrews and Joey.  There’ll also be “nibbles and bits” and fun swag bags for the first 30 people in the door to buy a book!  We’ll continue our howling good time with great gift basket drawings all day from our wonderful vendors, too!

Save The Date For Joey's Pawtograph

Save the date for Joey’s pawtograph and enjoy Save The Date by Mary Kay Andrews.  It’ll also be a great time for you to stock up on your favorite Mermaid Goodies, including our signature Mermaid tee shirts and caps, candles, note cards, Beach Bum Biscuits and our famous Mermaid Morning Bliss Coffee. While you’re here, be sure to save the date for your next staycations and getaways to Mary Kay Andrews’ Tybee Island beach cottages, Breeze Inn circa 1942 and Ebbtide circa 1932.  Joey says, “It’s pawty time!” and that’s something to bark about.
