“Vacation to me means relaxation and no schedule. It means a quiet place to stay and miles of beach to walk. Tybee Tides provided exactly what I was looking for. This beautiful cottage is located on a quiet street that overlooks a salt marsh where I can watch the tide come in and out and the sun go down. I can walk a block to a nice shoreside restaurant and ten minutes to a great beach. I can sit on a beautiful screen porch and chat with neighbors I have never met before walking their dogs. There are many great little restaurants to have a meal and talk to the owners who actually run them. The main street is not fancy or even quaint but has a beach town feel where wearing your cargo shorts and a tee shirt and riding your bike with a baseball cap on your head seem right at home. Mermaids made coming and going as simple and welcoming as could be hoped for. No finding an office, hoping it would be open, and waiting in line for a key and signing a bunch of paper. Just go to the cottage and move in. It was as clean and neat as home and I loved the outdoor shower. We are moving from Cleveland to the Charlotte area next year and one of the big pluses will be that we can return to Tybee Tides with a half day drive. We will most certainly do so. Thanks to the Michauds for making this treasure available to lovers of the laid back.” …
