Cottage owners, local businesspeople, friends and honorary mermaids help make life on Tybee special. These are some of the people we love… and we think you will, too!
Mary Kay Andrews
Mary Kay Andrews is the New York Times bestselling author of Savannah Blues and Savannah Breeze, Hissy Fit, Deep Dish, The Fixer Upper, Summer Rental and the brand new- #5 on the NY York Times BESTSELER List (!!!) Spring Fever. A dedicated junker and fixer-upper, in 2009 she and her husband restored a dilapidated 1940s cottage on Tybee Island to create their very own Breeze Inn, named for the fictional motel in Savannah Breeze. The Breeze Inn is furnished with vintage treasures Mary Kay picks up at estate sales, junk shops and flea markets around the country.
MKA added another wonderful Tybee cottage in 2013. Ebbtide circa 1932 is an original Tybee raised cottage brimming with vintage charm, modern conveniences and ocean views. This newest addition to novelist Mary Kay Andrews’ beach cottage collection is named after the beach house in her New York Times bestselling “Summer Rental”!
Ladies Night goes on sale June 4, 2013! The New York Times bestselling author is back with another page-turning beach read about a woman whose life is turned upside down when she discovers her husband cheating on her.
Mary Kay also sells vintage and antique beachy finds at Seaside Sisters on Tybee Island. Visit her online at marykayandrews.com

Davenport House Museum/Historic Savannah Foundation
Davenport House Museum, the stately Federal-style home, was built by master carpenter Isaiah Davenport for his household. It provides a glimpse into 1820s domestic life in the urban port city of Savannah. In 1955 the saving of the Davenport House from demolition was the first effort of Historic Savannah Foundation, which has gone on to national prominence as a preservation leader as well as ushering in the preservation renaissance of the coastal city.

Captain Harvey
Captain Harvey was born and raised locally and operates Sweet Lowland Tybee Tours. He has been boating on the waterways of Savannah, Tybee and Hilton Head for over 55 years. One of his favorite books “First You Have to Row a Little Boat” tells a great story of how life and boating have so much they lend each other. One such message is when you row a bateau/boat you can see where you have been, yet cannot see where you are going (although you should have a very good idea!!). Obviously, while on Captain Harvey’s boat doing back-river and island tours you are under power. You will see some wonderful parts of our local waterways, including the Intercoastal, the ocean, sounds, rivers and even small creeks.
Welcome aboard mates; come see what today’s exciting adventure on the water has in store for us.

Captain Rene’s outings are intimate experiences because she makes the time to get to know you, listen to you and answer questions along the way. On her cruises you’ll enjoy meeting our local dolphin families, bird watching and beach combing on remote beaches, fossil hunting and much more!
