Mermaid’s Friends and Family

     We love hearing from you, our Mermaid friends! Karen stayed with us this past summer in Star Cottage, over on Jones Avenue, and this is what she had to share!

“I chose this cottage from pictures based on the kitchen because my son loves to cook—lucky me. We found the cottage well-equipped and spacious enough for all 7 of us. We loved the decor, so cheery and bright. The marine artifacts were fascinating for the granddaughters. Proximity to the beach was great so long as you are organized and have a cart. Beach was clean and safe with life guards on duty. Would love to come back to this cottage for a girlfriend weekend. Dear Mermaids,  

I can’t thank you enough for our lovely stay on Tybee! After our mother died in June my sister Linda and I decided that we had to find a new place for our Christmas celebration that would bring us together in a place like we grew up. After spending 62 years of Christmases together, this was our first without her. Having grown up on an island in SW FL, Tybee sounded perfect! And it was! The cottage was magical, just like the homes we knew, right down to the wood paneling and the downstairs bedrooms! As a preservationist for Lee County, FL I am especially impressed with the work you have done on the cottages! We can’t thank you enough, the Christmas tree was the most wonderful touch and the whole time was magical. (though a bit chilly all across the south!). We fell in love with AJ’s, the little restaurant down the street. After growing up on fresh shrimp from the boats at home we were delighted to find a place that knows how to boil shrimp! Any my husband fell in love with their shrimp and grits. Again, thanks for making our holiday so wonderful. We shall return!

As a repeat Mermaid Cottage guest, I decided to try Blue Heron Cottage. For a two bedroom, it is quite large. The living area is comfortable, and open to the kitchen. The yard is beautifully landscaped, and in a nice location. Thank you Diane and David for a wonderful trip!

We just love hearing from our guests! I get emails and phone calls, but we also have wonderful comments on our FlipKey guest reviews. That’s where Lynn from Suwanee, GA wrote to us to share her experience during her recent trip to Tybee,  and her stay at Sea Largo Cottage.

“Our stay at Sea Largo was exceptional in many ways. the house is located on the most pedestrian friendly street. We took our bikes and enjoyed the scenery and the little-to-know-traffic. Our front porch provided lots of sunshine and comfort for our outside living. The interior was very nice and serviceable. The kitchen was large, with all that you need to make a quick or gourmet meal. A wonderful experience at Tybee.”
