We’re featuring a new artist at SeaSide Sisters….. Sara Tetley does incredible water colors of Tybee cottages and Tybee scenes. These are just 4 examples of the beautiful prints she has on sale just in time for the Shop Hop and Stroll on Saturday! They are printed on watercolor paper, signed by the artist and priced for only $30 each. A great holiday gift. She has over 15 different scenes from Tybee for sale. Sara also has one original for sale- a beautiful old Tybee cottage framed and ready to hang. Ask any of the sisters to show you her work !

I’m heading off to South Beach in Miami with the dogs to experience another vacation rental for a week. I have a very full week planned with seeing friends, going to my favorite church, yoga on the beach and trying to be a local. I’ll be updating everyone on my SoBe experiences and the vacation rental I’ve found… again, everytime I go somewhere as a vacation rental guest, I understand more and more how important it is for us to take great care of you when you come to Tybee as a Mermaid Cottages guest…

Did you know that Coastal Living Magazine has a website ? http://www.coastalliving.com/ is the site to visit. The website has many of the same features as the monthly magazine , but even more better- they have lots of extras! One of the extra’s are the three blogs where the editors share their finds and secrets.

The Blogs are Blog :Shore Style, Blog: Shore Trips, Blog:Things – each of which focus on shops, Food and places to go and stay. Check out the October 27th entry under Shore Style- SeaSide Sisters was featured! One of the travel editors “discovered ” us and shared with the world what we’re all about!

From Canned Ham to La Petite Crevette

One of our favorite artists, Pam Martin, has done it again. Pam was here on Tybee this spring when Sisters on the Fly ( http://www.sistersonthefly.com/) were here for their regional spring conference with their 50 plus vintage trailers and decided she had to have one of her own. Pam is very single minded and darn if she didn’t accomplish her goal!! She found a vintage trailer in the South Georgia countryside and has turned this into a Pam Martin Orginal. A piece of art that travels no less! La Petite Crevette ( The Little Shrimp) went from being stuck in the 1960’s in the middle of a field to becoming bright and cheerful and full of fun and ready to be the life of the party no matter where she goes!
These pictures only slightly do her justice, but you can see her live and in person ( along with Pam who has to drive her here ) on Saturday Oct 18th from 10AM- 4PM at SeaSide Sisters Coastal Cottage Shop. We’re celebrating our shop’s 1st year Anniversary in great style and Pam and her “shrimp” will be the centerpiece of the party. Pam is bringing with her an entire trailer full of her art for the home, for holiday gifts, for yourself! Wine-y Wednesday , SeaSide Sisters and Pam Martin’s Art

Don’t forget to mark your calendars to join us at Sea Side Sisters Coastal Cottage Shop this Wednesday for Wine-y Wednesday from 5PM – 7PM. Pam Martin will be our featured artist and showcasing all her new, fun creations!!! This is a picture of Pam at the gourd farm buying gourds to create more fish and mermaids ( see the above picture of the shop !)

The crab ornament Pam creates was featured in Coastal Living two years ago and also available for purchase at the shop. For those of you who can’t join us, we’ll soon have this and other pieces of Pam’s art available on http://www.seasidesisterstybee.com/ The Shrimp bucket is just one of several designs Pam creates, ideal for holding beer or flip flops by the front door!

Tailgate Party @ SeaSide Sisters!

Our favorite shop on the island has a very full fall planned of great events! Yes, we are in the state of Georgia and yes, football is a passion here…. so to kick off the fall season, join us for the tailgate party tonight at the shop!
