Happy Little Cottages By The Sea

Cottage Charm, Coastal Calm

Ebbtide-ings Of Great Joy

Mary Kay Andrews and Mr. MKA have been busy making beautiful upgrades to their cottage collection.  We’re so thrilled with all the new goodies we call them Ebbtide-ings of great joy!

This historic beach house features original board and batten wood paneling, wood ceilings, hardwood floors and all the seaside ambiance you can imagine! Lovingly preserved and restored, this kind of historic, original construction adds a special, memory-making touch that is one-of-a-kind and cannot be reproduced.  It is a place you will remember fondly long after you have checked out and returned to “the real world” and one that you will dream about returning to again and again!

The wood-paneled walls envelop you in warmth and you can easily imagine how good life was for those who called this place home so many years ago. The kitchen greets you upon entry with its red and white décor and simple, yet elegant style. All brand-new stainless steel appliances and granite countertops give you all the modern comforts and conveniences and the red and white gingham reminds you of yesteryear!

kitchen

From the kitchen, you move into the combo dining/living space.  This is an enormous room with a large, rectangular oak dining table with seating for eight (highchair also provided). Beautiful barn-style vintage-inspired lighting over the dining table and vintage Sunbeam bread store signage and bookshelf chocked full of books and games for all ages complete the dining space.

The living room features original wood paneling, a large and comfy slipcovered sofa, cozy side chairs, a large round coffee table, a beautiful brick fireplace/hearth (fireplace has an electric firebox installed!) and new flatscreen TV. Beautiful antique furniture pieces mingle with new pieces in a perfect mix of today and yesterday!

master

Behind the living room wall to the left is the master suite with a king-size bed, luxurious bedding, an en suite bath with vintage black and white tile and claw-foot tub — a complete luxury master suite!

bedroom

On the other side of the house, on either side of the fireplace, doors open into the hallway leading to the three other bedrooms on this level, as well as the full bath between the bedrooms. On the right, there is a bedroom with two twin beds and through that room another bedroom with queen bed.

porch

French doors lead out to the enormous covered porch and another complete sitting/dining area with slipcovered sofa, vintage rattan chairs, flat screen TV, table and chairs for dining or games (seating for six) and yet another sitting area with a rattan sofa and loveseat and chairs done up in a beautiful beachy blue stripe. This enclosed porch is surrounded on all sides by windows and sliding glass doors with views to the beach and access to the balcony.

bedroom

Back in the hallway, there is a full bath and then to the left the fourth bedroom with queen bed. These bedrooms also feature sinks, a quaint vintage touch that has been left for guests to enjoy! On the ground level, there are two additional bedrooms; one with a queen bed and one with two twin beds. There is a full bath with shower downstairs, as well as a second shower that’s perfect for taking a “beach shower” and getting all the salty water and sand off before heading inside!

crossover

With covered parking for four cars and a laundry room on the ground level, you will absolutely love this house! Ebbtide is close to the beach with a crossover bridge to take you directly from the house, over the sand dunes and to the ocean’s waves!

living room

These Ebbtide-ings of great joy also include a complimentary, autographed Mary Kay Andrews novel and a personal welcome note with each stay.  Best of all, Ebbtide circa 1932 and Breeze Inn circa 1942 are available for Christmas.  Come have yourself a coastal little Christmas!
