Fall in love with Tybee Island this October. Mild, sunny days and even milder nights make for just the right time to explore our little barrier island. You’ll enjoy less traffic, fewer crowds and plenty to see and to eat and to do around here. Plan a Momcation, a Sistercation, or gather up the old gang for a stay in one of our vintage or historic cottages for a Big Chill high school or college reunion. A lot can be said for solo getaways, too, especially when you pack your wags for a much needed Wellcation to just unplug with your dog.
Here are some inspirations that’ll have you loading up for a post summer, pre-winter vacation:
Tybee Farmers’ and Artisan Market
Let the Tybee Island Lighthouse lead you onto its grounds for our weekly Monday markets. You’ll always find fresh local products and goods and you’ll get to know our community better, too. Each week a free space is reserved for a charitable organization. Take your fall getaways to the next level when you vacation with a purpose.
If old movies, live theater, concerts and shows fuel your entertainment tank, you have to experience them in this historic performing arts and movie venue.
Shop Late Till 8 at The Shoppes at 1207
Shop Late Till Eight on the third Friday of the month through December 21st at The Shoppes of 1207. Shopping venues include Seaside Sisters, Kelly & Co. and Justabreeze Art & Framing. Here’s a tip: You’ll find lots of Mermaid Cottages merchandise, including Mermaid Morning Bliss Coffee, our caps, t-shirts, dog collars and more at Seaside Sisters.
Aargh you ready for a fun time of marauding and pillaging? This is Tybee Island, so you know we do everything family style. There’ll be music, good foods, pirate performers, a parade and lots more surprises in store. Besides, where else can you break out all that wench wear you’re so fond of? October 4-7, 2018.
9th Annual Tybee I.C.E. Run, Hot Rod & Car Show
Tybee Island is well known for slowing things down to the pace of earlier and simpler times, so vintage and classic cars are right at home here. This year, the Tybee ICE Run show benefits Oatland Island Wildlife Center. All proceeds from this year’s show will go directly to helping them rebuild and to re-open after suffering devastating losses from a tornado last summer. October 13, 2018
Tybee Island Community Day Celebration!
Live like a local and really reset your internal clocks to Tybee Time as we celebrate our resilient community spirit with games, live music and lots of great food. October 14, 2018
