Gramping With Mermaid Cottages

Gramping with Mermaid Cottages is a new trend whose time has come.  Grandparents who love to travel and who are looking for new and inventive ways to connect with their grandchildren are also giving some much-needed time alone to their children for a win-win-win situation. We’re entering the shoulder season that’s very desirable for those travelers who love beach vacations without the crowds, the traffic and the long waits for restaurants and recreation. As it turns out, it’s also a great time to indulge grandchildren, strengthen family bonds, and nurture one’s love for connecting families and generations. Tybee Island and Mermaid Cottages just happen to be among the best places to enjoy these skip-generation getaways.

Tybee Island Irish Heritage Parade

Tybee Island Heritage Parade

Tybee Island Heritage Parade is the first parade of St. Patrick’s season on Saturday, March 12 from 3 to 5 p.m. Now in its 19th year, the annual celebration parade is two hours of awesome jam-packed with music, marchers and so much more. The family-friendly float fest starts at Tybee City Hall and travels down Butler Avenue to Tybrisa Street. Wear your brightest green garb and get ready to party at the parade!

Of course, along with the “wearin’ o the green” you’ll want to reserve one of these Mermaid Cottages. You’ll be as lucky as the Irish to stay in one for Tybee Island Heritage Parade and for all of your celebrations and vacations.

Celebrate St Patrick’s Day With Mermaid Cottages

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Mermaid Cottages this year. It’s been nearly three years since Savannah hosted its St. Patrick’s Day parade, but with the luck of the Irish, we’ll celebrate this year. Known as one of the largest in the U.S., the parade draws tens of thousands to the Hostess City to experience marching bands, decorated floats and green beer. Just take a look at this year’s schedule.  You’ll be ready to shout, ” Erin go braugh”!

First, the Grand Marshal Public Investiture takes place Sunday, March 6, at 2:45 p.m. at Georgia Southern Armstrong Center (11935 Abercorn St.). This is the formal investiture of the parade grand marshal and introduction of his family and aides. Where To Stay:
