Tybee Sweet Spots are prime dates to enjoy your stays with Mermaid Cottages. You’ll find them on our online booking calendar!  School is starting back soon, but our summer season goes on and on and on.  We stay very busy on the weekends this time of year, so when you’re ready for your next beach getaway, look for date spans that start on Sundays for five nights.  This way, you check in on a slower day and enjoy Tybee Island’s fantastic weather all week and then check out Friday morning before the weekend rush begins. Traffic is much lighter, restaurant wait times are much lower and you get all the benefits of our sweet spots.  Here are a few we’d like to mention and you’ll find even more on our website.

Labor Day

Labor Day is a federal holiday in the United States celebrated on the first Monday in September to honor and recognize the American labor movement and the work and contributions of laborers to the development and achievements of the United States.

Join us to celebrate America’s labor movement’s hard work and dedication during the annual Tybee Island Labor Day Beach Bash. Join the band Landslide, a Fleetwood Mac Tribute on September 2 at 7 p.m. on the Tybee Pier and Pavillon. The Swingin’ Medallions Band will perform on September 3 from 7-10:30 p.m., while the fireworks show begins at 9:15 p.m. It’s an evening of fun and dancing as we light up the night sky.

These are just some of the happy little houses by the sea Mermaid Cottages has available for this long holiday weekend. Come for a few days or stay a week or longer!

Woodie’s Place has joined our Mermaid Cottages collection of happy little houses by the sea and it will carry on the family legacy for which it is so well known. Original owners Woodie and Charlie loved sharing their home with family, friends, and Tybee Island visitors. It’s now available just in time for your summer vacation.

This serene home is located in a small beachside community and has everything your family needs for a great beach getaway including three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, an open, fully stocked kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and a spacious living area.

The bedrooms are peaceful and serene with muted soft decor. Each bedroom is equipped with a flat-screen TV accessible for Roku streaming.

Sea Turtle Nesting Season has already begun! The season runs from May 1st to October 31st. Our friends from the Tybee Sea Turtle Project have provided a conservation initiative of the Tybee Island Marine Science Center. We’re happy to share this with our Mermaid Cottages guests. 👫 Volunteers will be out at dawn to walk the beach every single day, looking for signs of nesting.
