You are invited to come out and join us at Seaside Sisters tomorrow, October 3rd, to celebrate their 3rd anniversary! All weekend, there will be specials, free gifts, drawings, and nibbles plus…
Paula Deen’s favorite fellas will be with us from 1 to 3 pm!
Come out and meet Captain Michael Groover (author of My Delicious Life with Paula Deen) and Brandon Branch (assistant of The Lady herself, and co-author of Savannah Style)! There will be a book signing, as well as a tasting of Captain Michael’s Full Steam Ahead Coffee!
Please join us! Partial sale proceeds during this event will go to the “Casting for Stars FUN-raiser” to restore the Historic Tybee Post Theater. Our goal is $5000, so please come out..and bring all your friends! Seaside Sisters is located at 1207 HWY 80 East in Sundance Square here on Tybee. Can’t wait to see you there!

The Blessing of the Pets on Tybee!

     The All Saints Episcopal Church here on Tybee is going to be hosting a wonderful event coming up in October! All pets are invited to attend the Blessing of the Pets..and of course, your humans are welcome too! There will be fun for all, a performance by the Savannah Children’s Preparatory Choir, and even the local mounted patrol and K-9 unit will join the festivities! 
      October 4th is the Feast of Saint Francis, the patron saint of animals and the environment. Saint Francis was born in Assisi in 1182. He lived a simply life of poverty, committed to God, and gained a reputation for being a friend to all animals. He established the rule of St. Francis, which today is known as the Order of Saint Francis, or the Franciscans. He died in 1266 at the age of 44. The Blessing of the Pets is done all over the world in remembrance of the love Saint Francis had for all creatures!

     Make sure you save the date! The event begins at 4pm Sunday, October 3rd in the church yard at All Saints Episcopal Church. (Perfect timing after you attend the Book signing and coffee tasting fundraiser at Seaside Sisters!) 
     The church is on Jones Avenue here on Tybee Island. If you are headed in from Savannah, turn right onto Jone Avenue at the second light and go 8 blocks. The church will be on your left! And don’t worry, if the weather doesn’t cooperate, the festivities will move to the church hall. We can’t wait to see everyone there and celebrate that special bond we share with our furry friends!

Live Like a Local: Tybee Festival of the Arts

Looking for a little culture or creative inspiration? Well, you should join us at the Tybee Festival of the Arts! Its the 14th annual celebration of fine arts and crafts here on the island October 16th and 17th! It is a must-attend event!
     This festival is sponsored by the Tybee Arts Association and the City of Tybee, and for the second year it will be held in a grand tent on South Beach. Come enjoy a beautiful view of the ocean and the Pier and Pavillion while exploring the amazing selection of fine art!

     There will be a juried art show with $4000 worth of prices up for grabs! You won’t want to miss browsing through jewelry, photography,mixed media, oil & watercolor paintings, and ceramics by regional artists from not only Georgia, but Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Florida as well! There will also be great live music, and it is all free to the public!

Seaside Sisters Fundraiser Fun!

You guys won’t want to miss a minute of the fun at Seaside Sistersthis weekend! On top of some awesome sales and celebrations in honor of their 3rd Anniversary, the gals at Seaside Sisters are also having a book signing and coffee tasting!

Come meet two of Paula Deen’s favorite fellas…husband (and author!) Captain Michael Groover and Brandon Branch, assistant to Paula and co-author of Savannah Style! Come out and get your books (and your coffee bags) signed and taste some of Capt. Michael’s Full Steam Ahead coffee! We will also have a Mermaid Cottages Table at the shop where you can find out more about the Mermaid Cottages featured in Paula Deen’s Savannah style!

This event is also fun for a great cause! We hope for this to be a major fundraiser to benefit the Tybee Post Theater. Our goal is $5000! In addition to the book and coffee bag signing stations, $1 of the proceeds of every coffee bag sold will be donated to benefit the Tybee Post Theater as well! So please make plans to join us at Seaside Sisters this Sunday, October 3rd and have fun while helping us out with a wonderful cause!
