I’m always so excited to hear from you, our guests! One thing I also never tire of is seeing pictures guests send. The smiles and happy faces always brighten my day! I recently received one such email from Nancy with these fabulous pictures of their stay at Ya’ll Come Inn Cottage.

I’m always smiling after seeing pictures like these! Ya’ll Come Inn is a great cottage for groups for any kind…especially Paula Deen fans. Nancy even sent a picture of her signed cookbook for us to see!

Decking the Halls and Caroling Fun

     Christmas has definitely come to Tybee and we love all the holiday sights! The city recently held their annual Lights On For Tybee decoration contest and the entire island was decked out for the occasion. We are so excited to say that Mermaid Cottages won Most Elegant in the Best Decorated Business category this year! A lot of our cottage owners went all out and the cottages look amazing. I have so many pictures to sort through, but these pictures are from just one of our cottages, Paula Deen’s beach house, Ya’ll Come Inn! Shannon and Jan are some creative geniuses and did an amazing job with the decorating at this cottage. Just look at the trimming on the tree…I think the star is my all time favorite!

Aren’t they fabulous? Who needs snow with halls decked like this? The entire island is merry and bright! Hopefully, I can get the rest of the pictures sorted and share them too!

     And, speaking of merry, if you are wanting to find seasonal fun this weekend…look no further! This Saturday, December 18th, the Tybee Christmas Caroling Trolley is coming! This is the 6th year for the event and it is sure to be a blast. Tickets for the trolley are on sale now at this year’s sponsor, Social, and they always go fast, so hurry and pick your up today! There will be holiday drinks and appetizers beginning at 5 pm at Social, and the trolley departs at 6 pm, rain or shine. So if you have loads of holiday cheer that needs to be spread around, join the caroling fun this weekend! Mermaids in Our Midst: Our Favorite Mermaid!

Our very own mermaid, Jan Meyer, had an adventure this past Saturday…she saw our favorite mermaid! Here’s her email:

Was at Goodwill today (yes, Paula Deen shops at Goodwill) and look who we ran into! She was great! I introduced myself and that I take care of her beach cottage. She said “Honey, glad ya’ll do such a good job, ’cause I sure don’t have the time!” Then I told her I went to see her dentist (she does commercials for) and that, when I won the lottery, I’d go back! She laughed and said “Well, he sure worked a miracle on me!” She was a gracious and lovely Mermaid in our midst! And, when she got ready to go, she hollered to her friend, “Honey, I’m ready to go, I’m all checked out! Hey ya’ll, don’t ya love my intercom system?”
