Savannah Boat Show

savannah boat showThe sun is peeking through the Winter’s mists and that means it’s time for the Savannah Boat Show and warm weather!  We’re all tired of socks with our flip flops and hot toddy creations.  If Winter doesn’t hurry up and leave we’ll attach tow hooks to it and drag it out to sea.

Just in case, let’s all turn out for this year’s boat show and make a few notes on what’s new.  The show attracts thousands of current and prospective boat owners and there will be plenty of extensive displays of the latest in watercraft lines, marine equipment, accessories and services.  In between, sign up for the great  fishing clinics and simulations, meet celebrity guests, and enjoy kids’ activities and great food at this family-friendly event.

How Much Is That Puppy Love?

how much is that puppy loveHow much is that Puppy Love in February?  When you stay with Mermaid Cottages on Tybee Island, Puppy Love is free all month!  That’s right!  Book a stay any time in February and you pay no pet fee (we’re inviting cats, too!).  Also, when you stay through February 15th, your stay will include a Mini Morsel Pet Portrait Session with Oh Joy Photography, too!

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Dogs stay free the entire month of February 2015.  That’s right.  There will be no pet fees for dogs from February 1 through February 28, 2015.  When you book your reservations online or talk with the Mermaid-on-Duty, just use our February Special Code: LOVE.
  •  In addition, guests with dogs staying February 6-15, 2015 will receive a free photo shoot as part of your visit.  The photos will be sent to each guest electronically and you can also arrange to have them professionally printed for purchase.  Pets can sit for their own portraits and we’re okay if their well-behaved humans get in the pictures, too.
  • Most of our cottages are dog friendly and some of them are just purrfect for cats, too.  We’re celebrating Puppy Love, but your February stay can be just as cat-tastic, too.  Just check our collection for our cat friendly cottages or ask a Mermaid when you call.

In particular, I love the pet adventures when I visit Fort Pulaksi National Monument.  This national treasure has it all.  There are interpretive programs, miles of lush walking trails through more than 5000 acres of coastal marshlands, a 150 year old lighthouse, and an abundance of wildlife. Dogs are allowed throughout the grounds; just remember they must be leashed and under their owner’s control at all times.
