Enjoy a TREEmendous Spring with Mermaid Cottages and get 10% off your stay! We’re celebrating the arrival of Spring on Tybee Island, so when you book a new reservation you can help us make Tybee even more beautiful! Flowers are blooming everywhere in our cottage gardens and window boxes. Birds are singing in the trees. Even the dolphins are happy in the ocean, rivers and creeks!
Here’s the deal. Tybee is actually a Maritime Forest and we are trying to plant more native trees on the island. I had the opportunity to venture down to campus the other evening and snapped a few shots. I was happy with the way they came out. The type of shots you are viewing are HDR which stands for High Dynamic Range. This involves taking 3 shots: One at a lower exposure, one at a normal exposure and one at a higher exposure. This technique allows for more detail, light and color to be gathered. The latest version of Photoshop has a feature that combines the three shots and creates some pretty sharp results.
