Mermaid Cottages recommends these eight doors to open in 2021. Most of us spent last year closing our doors to the outside world and in quarantine from friends and family. You can still enjoy a safecation in what we call “sparkling isolation” in Tybee Island. Open these doors to step into our homes away from home where history, cottage charm and coastal calm flow freely. Come on in!

A country coastal Christmas at Fish Camp Cottage circa 1950 is a safecation goal we all need. Your host Mermaids at Mermaid Cottages have been working to top our already high cleaning standards. We are following CDC guidelines to ensure you, your family and your friends are kept safe in our cottages. During this time, our housekeepers are paying even more attention to high-traffic surfaces and taking the additional time needed to make sure our cottages are extra-clean for your visit. Our check-in time of 4 p.m. is to allow our housing Mermaids sufficient time to clean, disinfect and inspect your cottage prior to your arrival. Fish Camp’s owner has also added lots of holiday cheer with her Christmas decorations and yuletide greetings. We know you’ll love this extra bit of cottage charm and coastal calm through the end of the year.

Here are eight Mermaid Cottages for more summer fun! Aren’t we all tired of staring at the same four walls? Tybee Island is just the place for a safe and fun getaway with lots of outdoor social distancing. It’s the perfect time for a last minute getaway to our little barrier island. All you have to do is pack a swimsuit, a few shorts and tops and flip flops. Indulge yourself in peace and quiet or unwind with an eco tour or kayaking excursion. You can even work remotely and continue your virtual learning with our complimentary WiFi during your visit. There’s no harm in adding in a little work, if needed.

This island charmer is bright and cheerful and full of fun! Coastal Joy is a two bedroom second story duplex on the south end of Tybee. It’s close to the beach and completely newly renovated with lots of color and personality! Guests are raving about its brand new deck, too!

It’s also close to the Back River Fishing Pier and the Alley 3 Paddleboard and Kayak Launch. Pack your wags because it has a fenced-in yard and a large screened porch!

This dog and cat friendly cottage includes our brand standard and complimentary WIFI. It’s a very affordable and value priced family cottage. Guests love that it’s located on the marsh with amazing sunrises and bird watching.
