Earth Day Savannah

Earth Day Savannah will return April 21 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Daffin Park, 1301 E. Victory Drive. The 2023 Earth Day Savannah theme is “Our Future is Bright” to educate and engage the public on the clean energy goals of the 100% Savannah Plan. Passed in 2021 by Savannah City Council, the 100% Savannah Plan is working toward meeting 100% of community electricity needs with renewable energy by 2035.
Under the canopy of Daffin’s beautiful live oaks, residents who attend 2023 Earth Day Savannah will connect with community organizations and learn more about local efforts to increase our resilience to natural disasters, meet the needs of everyone in our community, and conserve natural resources for future generations. This family-friendly event will include live performances, educational activities and exhibitions, and food trucks.
“The City wants to shine a light on what sustainability means in our everyday lives, and what great benefits these efforts offer to our community,” said Alicia Brown, Clean Energy Program Manager for the City of Savannah Office of Sustainability. “Often folks think sustainability requires severe personal deprivation or overwhelming change to make a difference. We are celebrating our ‘bright future’ to share the message of how far we’ve already come and what we will continue to gain from committing to sustainable practices. Taking action together will support a healthier, more prosperous, more equitable community.”
Since 2000, Earth Day Savannah has been Savannah’s largest environmental event of the year and has become one of the largest educational events in conjunction with Earth Day in Georgia. This event serves as an important opportunity for local government, businesses, nonprofits, and community groups to connect with the public and each other.

Vacation Rental Week

Vacation Rental Week March 11-15, 2024

Mermaid Cottages is thrilled to participate in the annual Vacation Rental Week! Professionally-managed vacation rentals provide value and benefits for guests and property owners alike. This celebration of Vacation Rental Week is our chance to highlight these and encourage you to book a stay or entrust your vacation property to a professional manager.

FOR GUESTS As a guest, vacation rentals are a great alternative to hotels in every aspect, offering you much more for your money, including additional space, privacy, convenience, and amenities. Vacation rentals offer a cleaner, more socially-distanced experience, with fewer touchpoints and outside interaction compared to hotels. Vacation rentals also give you a unique opportunity to create a more personalized, memorable vacation experience compared to traditional hotels. You’ll have the practical comfort of an actual residence, the ability to explore the neighborhood, and the opportunity to discover aspects of your destination you might not encounter when staying at a hotel. If you’re vacationing with family, vacation rentals are an excellent option, typically offering multiple bedrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, and easy access to local entertainment.

FOR PROPERTY OWNERS Safely renting your space as a property owner through a professional manager can be an easy and reliable revenue source, transforming it into an asset that offers a significant return on your investment. You’ll also be able to use the property when you choose, spending your vacations there with family while renting it to guests the rest of the year. A professional vacation rental manager will handle all the logistics, securing responsible guests, and maximizing your return through an expert understanding of the industry and in-depth knowledge of the local community. They’ll also handle cleaning the property to the highest standards, advertise, handle inquiries, collect deposits and balances, generate agreements, and follow up post-rental, so you can sit back and enjoy the experience.

Call or text 912.658.0714 and let us tell you more as we celebrate Vacation Rental Week!
