Happy Little Cottages By The Sea

Cottage Charm, Coastal Calm

Mermaids in South Carolina!

Here at Mermaid Cottages, we believe everyone has an inner mermaid- but how often do we get to see a real mermaid, in the flesh? Not as often as we’d like, right? Well, now you can!

It is just a short trip up the road to catch a live mermaid show at the Ripley’s Aquarium of Myrtle Beach, SC! Mermaid Melissa, professional mermaid extraordinaire, performs daily, four shows a day, all summer! Just look at this beautiful video!

Mermaid Melissa isn’t just a performer, she’s an ocean activist. Her motto is, “Let’s save the oceans before all creatures become mythical.” She is active in charities and also participates in events that bring awareness to the ocean and all of its inhabitants. Melissa has an amazing and extensive background, so make sure you check out her full biography  and head over to her offical Mermaid Melissa Facebook Page. If you want even more, visit her website for loads of information, videos, and articles!

Have you seen a mermaid? We’d love to hear about it! Please send your sightings and stories to us at diane@mermaidcottages.com and let us share them with our Mermaid Nation, right here on our blog. We can’t wait to hear from you!

  1. Hey, my name is Sherrie Bauman.
I’m currently taking a photography classes. I love taking photos. I’m so curious about these mermaids. i wanted to know if you knew anything of sightings in South Carolina. i want only to capture their beauty. I’ve hear’ed of many things being seen, even though they have been around probably longer than humanity has walked the earth. I would love to capture their beauty and sightings in photos. i think it would be the most wonderful thing, and the memories to share. I want a mermaid to be the center piece in capturing the moment. here are both my email’s, just in case if anythign comes to mind.

    Thank you for you’re time.
