Canty’s Cottage in Tybee Island is one of our most popular cottages for Girls Getaways, family gatherings and couples retreats. This circa 1957 charmer is vintage, yet freshly painted and updated. This mid century modern island home belongs to Mary Elizabeth Canty. She and her family have enjoyed it since her childhood.
Built in the 1950’s and completely restored with Central AC and all the modern conveniences, this ground level, pet friendly home features a large fully fenced back and side yards with views of the Back River. Just 1.5 blocks to the Alley III kayak launch area, it’s just the right location for when you want to enjoy the beach and the Back River, too.
Canty’s Cottage has it’s own Tybee Tiki Hut, the ultimate finishing touch. There’s even a hammock with pillows and lounge chairs for lots of relaxation.
You’ll comfortably sleep six and dine just as many with Canty’s two queen beds, two twin beds and it’s gorgeous dining area. When we say everyone loves this cottage we mean your dogs will love it, too.
Frequent guests return for the bird watching, it’s fenced in yard, garden seating, a gas grill and lots of island fun. It’s also popular for it’s off street parking, private patio and wildlife viewing.
“My wife, daughter and I stayed for three nights. We were in town for the Savannah Marathon. The Mermaids were so helpful through the process. The house was beyond words. We wanted to move in. The owner called the day we checked in to ask if we needed anything. She brought us two blankets within five minutes. We would go back in a heart beat, and hopefully soon.
