Mermaid Cottages are available for Surfers For Autism, so give us a call or book conveniently online to support this inspiring weekend for families and volunteers alike. Coming up on Saturday, September 6th, the Coastal Empire Surfers For Autism will be on the beach and in the surf from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The action takes place around the beach area, south side of Walter W. Parker Pier & Pavilion. This will be a fun and educational surfing event for special needs children and their families and everyone is invited to support the surfers.
Mission Statement:
The Surfers For Autism mission is to unlock the potential of people with developmental delays, support advocacy for autism issues and scientific research. Our focus is to eliminate stigma through public awareness and education and to unite communities through volunteerism.
Whether you’re coming down solo to volunteer or you’re coming as a group or as a family with your own young surfers, Mermaid Cottages has just the right cottage for you. Here are a few that are still available.
Sea Stars Cottage circa 1932 is a historic Tybee raised cottage on the beach side Butler ( One block from the beach). Pets are always welcome as there is a fully fenced yard. You’ll love the wrap around porch with rocking chairs.
Sandy Toes Cottage is an adorable single story cottage brimming with vintage charm. It has three bedrooms and two full baths. It’s also pet friendly with a fenced-in yard and everyone always enjoys the convenient outdoor shower.
Barefoot Children is every pirate’s fun, fantasy cottage decorated with children in mind. There’s a pirate-themed kids’ room, a reading nook, a play area under the stairs and a screened porch perfect for enjoying ice cream and popsicles. The large family room also sports denim (beach and kid-friendly) furniture!
Eisenhower’s Retreat circa 1894 is another beautiful, historic beach cottage located on the beach side of Butler Avenue. It has four bedrooms and three full baths. It’s simple yet elegant, cozy and nostalgic. This is a summer cottage where you’ll make special beach vacation memories!
