April 22-26 will be the perfect time to enjoy your favorite vintage wines and the comfort of some of your favorite Mermaid Cottages. The Tybee Wine Festival is one of the Tybee Post Theater’s major fundraising events. You’ll be toasting the best of Tybee via five fun and unique wine and food experiences.
A Celebration of Earth and Vine Wednesday, April 22 ~ 6-9pm
Celebrate the 45th anniversary of Earth Day with an elegant four-course wine dinner. Each of the dishes and the accompanying wines will be inspired by Earth Day and presented personally by each of the hosting chefs. A wine-tasting reception precedes the dinner at Tybee’s gorgeous new event space. the Grand Ballroom of the Tybee Wedding Chapel.
The Art of Pairing Thursday, April 23 ~ 7-9pm
This will be an intimate five-course wine-tasting dinner that pairs the perfect wines with each course, from appetizer through dessert. A sommelier guides guests through the courses as he explains the dynamics of each culinary and wine selection. This event will be hosted at Tybee Island Social Club, so you know it’ll be a very special and intimate experience!
An Evening of Oysters & Wine Friday, April 24 ~ 6:30-8:30pm
is a most unique cottage full of vintage art and wonderful personal touches. It’s also pet friendly with a small fenced yard.
What could be more scrumptious than oysters by the sea! Marlin Monroe’s will present oysters served six ways – Grilled, On the Half Shell, Confetti Oysters, Oysters Rockafannie, Tiger Oysters and Marinated Oysters. Sample them all and toast the setting sun with perfectly matched wines from a dozen wineries. Just imagine the sensational sunset from this beautiful outdoor and oceanfront setting.
The Grand Wine Tasting Saturday, April 25 ~ 3-6pm
Join us at the Tybee Island Lighthouse Station for our festival’s signature event featuring more than 100 international wines and samplings from the menus of our favorite Tybee and area restaurants. Sip and sway to live music on the festival stage, participate in a spectacular silent auction, and score this year’s commemorative 2015 Tybee Wine Festival wine glass to take home. So, bring your beach chair or blanket, relax on the Lighthouse lawn and enjoy this April afternoon of good food, fine wine and lots of fun! Tybee Island Light Station.
Sunday Champagne Brunch, April 26 ~ 12:30-2:30pm
Let’s do Sunday Champagne Brunch at Tybee’s famous Crab Shack with a spectacular buffet of Southern-flavored homemade delights, including scrambled eggs, deviled crab, shrimp, country ham, chipped pork sliders, a beef round carving station, Bahamian mac & cheese and so much more. Don’t top off just yet, as all this decadence will be followed by an assortment of mouth-watering fruit and chocolate desserts and live music.
