It’s beginning to look a lot like Tybee for the Holidays and you’re invited to come help us spread the holiday cheer!

4th Annual Crab Shack Tybee Boat Parade

 

 

On December 2nd, join us for our 4th Annual Tybee Boat Parade! It’s free for participants with a Second Harvest Food Donation and $5 for spectators with a donation!  There will be a hot dog and chili bar available from 6pm -7pm.  Boats depart our docks around 7pm and awards will be presented out upon their return! Please join us this Saturday, November 17th from  5p.m.-8p.m. for the opening reception of “Metamorphosis“,  paintings by local artist and naturalist, Mallory Pearce and his late mother Sally Pearce.

Metamorpohsis

This show celebrates the unique artistic relationship between mother and son. In the words of Mallory, “I am an artist, because of my mother”. The influence worked both ways and we are proud to display the results. Mallory has published 15 books with Dover and recently added “The Lowcountry-A Naturalist’s Field Guide to Coastal Georgia, The Carolinas, and North Florida” to his accomplishments. …

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the St. Joe’s Mobile Mammogram Unit will be visiting Tybee Island on Friday, October 26, 2012.

Please stop by Seaside Sisters and get your Treasure Your Chest Tee Shirts.  The tees are $22 each and proceeds benefits Tybee’s Ta-Tas!  Then,  spread the word!  The mammogram mobile will be parked in front of the shop on October 26th and we’ll be posting convenient phone numbers for you to make an appointment.

Tybee’s Ta-Tas are real treasures, so be sure and treasure yours!

All Saints’ Episcopal Church and the Savannah Children’s Choir Hold Annual Animal Blessing Event

Animal Blessings

All Saints Episcopal Church and The Savannah Children’s Choir will hold their Annual Animal Blessing Event on Sunday, October 7, 2012 in the churchyard located at 804 Jones Avenue, Tybee Island at 4:00pm. The Rev. Helen White will preside over the event. The event is held in celebration of The Feast of St. Francis, patron saint of animals and ecology.

The Savannah Children’s Choir will perform and refreshments will be served.

All animals are welcome!

In case of rain blessing will be held indoors.
