Tybee’s Happy Movies By The Sea

tybee's happy movies by the seaIt’s Summer and that means it’s time for Tybee’s happy movies by the sea!  Every third Saturday evening during the summer months, Tybeetians and beach goers plop down for a picnic and a movie at Memorial Park.  These family friendly movies will be projected on the side of the Tybee Gym compliments of the City of Tybee Island’s Development Authority and Tybee’s Main Street Program and Partners.  On Saturday, August 15, we’ll be watching Earth To Echo!

Tuck, Munch and Alex are a trio of inseparable friends whose lives are about to change. Their neighborhood is being destroyed by a highway construction project that is forcing their families to move away. But just two days before they must part ways, the boys begin receiving a strange series of signals on their phones. Convinced something bigger is going on, they team up with another school friend, Emma, and set out to look for the source of their phone signals. What they discover is something beyond their wildest imaginations: a small alien who has become stranded on Earth. In need of their help, the four friends come together to protect the alien and help him find his way home. This journey, full of wonder and adventure, is their story, and their secret.

In particular, I love the pet adventures when I visit Fort Pulaksi National Monument.  This national treasure has it all.  There are interpretive programs, miles of lush walking trails through more than 5000 acres of coastal marshlands, a 150 year old lighthouse, and an abundance of wildlife. Dogs are allowed throughout the grounds; just remember they must be leashed and under their owner’s control at all times.
