     It’s that time again…time to say goodbye to the chilly temperatures of winter. What, you ask, is the best way to do that? Well, the only way Tybee does anything…throw a party!
     Join all of Tybee this weekend for the island’s 3rd Annual Mardi Gras celebration! This party will include all the traditions of Mardi Gras, an event that dates back to the ancient Romans. Tybee will be decked out in her finest for the occasion! The fun starts this Friday, March 3rd, with the Fantasy Masquerade Ball at Frannie’s on the Beach. Make sure to get your tickets and don your best glitz and glamor for this party! There will be prizes for the best dressed, not to mention the crowning of the king and queen!

     If you can’t make it Friday, no worries! The celebrations continue Saturday, March 4th. Join us for the Mardi Gras Parade at 1 pm down Butler Avenue, followed by a street party, free live music from great local bands, and a bazaar themed party at the pavilion until 6 pm.
     This amazing event is, of course, put on by the oh-so-awesome local non-profit group, Tybeefest. For more information on this and more up coming events, make sure to visit their website. Mermaid Sighting: High Tide Creations

     I just love mermaid decor…especially if it is handmade! I saw this wonderful sculpture featured on the Sally Lee by the Sea blog a little while ago, and fell in love. They featured High Tide Creations, and Etsy shop full of wonderful beach creations! This mermaid has to be one of my favorites, but everything is gorgeous…it’s hard to pick just one.

     Make sure to stop by next week for our sighting, too! We’ll be featuring one of our favorite artists who has a mutual love of mermaids!

No, it’s not a new installment of the Real Housewives Franchise…it’s something better!

THE REAL BARKHOUNDS OF TYBEE!

Everyone knows that human-folks enjoy our quirky island and our vintage cottages, but some of our favorite sightings are the dogs (and some Puddy-Tats) we encounter.

Some are year round residents while others are here just for visits, but either way we love meeting them and learning about their adventures around Tybee.

Send us photos of your furiends enjoying Tybee and they just might end up on The Real Barkhounds of Tybee!  Oh, come on…if you send us photos of your pets enjoying themselves no matter where they are we’ll probably post their pics, too.

And, you can’t get a better shot than that of your dog enjoying our delicious, all natural dog treats, Beach Bum Biscuits.
