It’s beginning to look a lot like Tybee for the Holidays and you’re invited to come help us spread the holiday cheer!

4th Annual Crab Shack Tybee Boat Parade

 

 

On December 2nd, join us for our 4th Annual Tybee Boat Parade! It’s free for participants with a Second Harvest Food Donation and $5 for spectators with a donation!  There will be a hot dog and chili bar available from 6pm -7pm.  Boats depart our docks around 7pm and awards will be presented out upon their return! Come join us on December 7th from 6:30pm – 9:00pm for Tybee’s annual tree lighting celebration with holiday joy and excitement.  Enjoy downtown with singing, dancing and more. …

How Are You Jingling This Weekend?

At Mermaid Cottages our wonderful mermaid decorating team and some of our cottage owners are busy transforming our cozy cottages and historic homes into a winter wonderland.  It’s the most wonderful time of the year to get Tybee-ized!  Y’all comin’?

1. Friday, the preview party/artist’s reception  for the Tybee Arts Association Art Show & Sale.   From 6 – 9 PM at the Old Elementary School cafeteria.  Look for TAA members circulating at the tree lighting.  They will give you one FREE Raffle ticket for Fridays Reception Party…Your chance to preview the show and win a fabulous prize.  Additional tickets for sale at the show, for drawings on Sat. and Sun.

2. On Saturday,  the TAA  Art Show & Sale from 10AM till 6PM.   At 3 PM,  Santa arrives next door at the YMCA.  While the children visit Santa, you can do some special shopping with us.

3. On Sunday,  visit the TAA Art Show & Sale from 10AM until 5PM.  Find that special something that is made locally and found no where else…. paintings, fabric and fiber art, jewelry, mosaics, photographs, stained glass, prints and, well, you just have to come and see it all…

Experience our theme for this show “Great Expectations”  beginning with your entrance  through the portico of the Old School Cafeteria into our Wonderland (with real elves).
We have a treat in store for YOU!

Hey good lookin’…what’s cookin’?  Why J-Prons, of course!

These fabulous accessories are the handy work of Jackie Callahan and her company, J-Prons! Jackie is a self proclaimed “semi-empty nester” and wanted to fill her evening down time with creativity she doesn’t get the chance to let loose at her day job as a registered nurse for an insurance company.

“I have always loved to cook and, for some unknown reason, always loved aprons,” Jackie told us.

So, she found a pattern, bought some yummy fabric, and pulled out her 28 year old Singer sewing machine. Not long after, her first apron was finished and the addiction began. Jackie says it has been so much fun finding whimsical fabrics and fine-tuning her own designs.

 “My husband, Tim, came up with the company name, J-Prons. Jackie+Arpons=J-Prons! In addition to the aprons, I also make slouchy shoulder/beach bags and baby/toddler hats. So, like our motto says, we’ve got you covered!”
