BBB Dog Tales: GRILLIN’ and CHILLIN’

PAWS and PADDLES, our newest pet friendly cottage is all ready for a visit from young Griffin and his best gal, Mae.

Griffin is an avid outdoorsman and he’s looking forward to pulling a few big ones from the waters around Tybee.  Mae is just happy to go along and find some great adventures, too.

When it’s time to serve up the day’s catch they’ll enjoy the Pawsome Patio and back deck at Paws and Paddles!

When you share your Tybee adventures with your best furiend be sure to post your photos on our Facebook pages.  We love hearing about your Dog Tales and  everyone enjoys adding more smiles to our Wag Pack.

Y’ALL COMIN’?

And the people of the Paula Queen Party

Maybe people is not the right term – Puppet People came to the party and were a huge hit. Paula Queen made her entrance wearing her signature butter necklace and earrings and Mercedes Overdrive just flew in from Boca Raton and everyone loved them! We thought our wonderful Tybee friends would be enough local character but once the puppets arrived we were all just background. Thank you Angela and Allison for joining us and bringing your magic. Don’t forget- you too can have these puppets and many many others come to your corporate meeting , conference or even your kids birthday party! Thank you as well to our friends from the Tybee City Council and Business Alliance for joining us and a special thank you to Hallie who was the tour guide for the bus ride down from Savannah to Tybee and Susan who helped us hostess.
www.puppetpeople.com is their fab website!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! I’m enjoying a role reversal today as the guest vs the vacation rental manager as I’m with a group of friends here in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Renting a home from Doug Brindley and the Brindley Vacation Rental Company www.brindleybeach.com here in Corolla, NC where the wild horses run on the beaches.

We’re cookin‘ up a storm and eating like kings and queens. So far some of the yummy food has included Buffalo Chicken Dip, Tres Leches Cake ( recipes.com then search tres leches cake- I promise you, you’ll want to try this cake!) and Creme Brulee French Toast ( epicurious.com and search creme brulee french toast). And this doesn’t even include the main meal today of turkey which btw– we are brining using a recipe from Martha Stewart ( www.marthastewart.com and search brine a turkey)
The centerpiece today is so wonderful- one of our friends , Pam who is a school teacher- brought her homemade turkey head that you attach to a pineapple. I don’t know if any of the rest of you grew up with the same decor, but our family sure did! In fact, I know my sister is using hers today on her pineapple for the table centerpiece.
The other picture is NOT our table but a beautiful example of what can be done so simply with some cut branches and clear glass vases.
I have very much to be thankful for this year and wish all of you a wonderful day. And a very big thank you for allowing me to have a business where I can be so happy and and do exactly what I was born to do. Welcoming guests to my island paradise!

Our Pre Theatre Party

Our team of Mer People ( the mermaids and mermen of Mermaid Cottages who worked so hard and long all summer) gathered together Friday Night for Pre Theatre cocktails and munchies party at Mermaid Manor. ( good thing my “m” key on my computer hasn’t worn out from that last sentence! ) We wanted to support our friends and neighbors who all were appearing in the production of The Treasure of Lefty the Pirate… the legend of the Tybee Bomb which was shown at the Tybee Gym- or theatre as it is this weekend. We enjoyed time together with each other and had a toast or two to the very successful summer season with happy guests, homeowners and prospects for next year looking excellent! ( thank you Miley for delaying the premiere of the movie till next spring!)
I made a new cake- Praline Apple cake with fresh apples I’d brought back from the orchards of North Carolina- the cake was very yummy and the praline topping only made it better!
Hopefully all of you will be able to see the last two shows today- Matinee at 3PM and the final show @ 7:30PM Buy your tickets on line at http://www.tybeeposttheatre.org/
thanks again to the best team on the island for all your hard work! BTW- we’ll next be gathering as a group for the Pirate Fest Parade next Saturday and everyone is invited to join us in our parade group!
