Live like a Local: Tybee for the Holidays!

The holidays are here again! Hard to believe how 2010 has just flown by…I mean, wasn’t it just Thanksgiving?!
There’s no better place than Tybee for the holidays and the island is gearing up for the celebrations. The fun began Thanksgiving Day but it is running straight through New Year’s! Our little corner of paradise will be teeming with events, activities, and special occasions for visitors and locals alike!

Holiday fun with Mary Kay Andrews!

There are so many wonderful happenings, I just don’t know where to begin. Oh, how about free parking island wide for starters!? And just in time for a food frenzy. All the wonderful restaurants on Tybee are offering specials, so think about making this the year you skip the kitchen and let someone else do the cooking!

And of course the ladies over at Seaside Sisters have decked the halls in preparation for some fabulous sales! There will be weekly coupons and specials from now until 2011, so don’t miss it!! December 5th is the annual Shop ‘n’ Stroll (from 11a.m.-7p.m.!) and there will be S’mores, holiday cheer, a camp fire over at Doyle Landscaping, and SHOPPING! You may even catch Santa and The Grinch while you’re there, so don’t miss a minute!
Also, the 2nd Annual Tybee Floating Christmas Parade is happening December 5th out at The Crab Shack! Deck the Hulls and get down there for the lighting of the first “Crabmus” Tree. There will be food, fun, and of course…lights! The fun starts at 5:30 pm with boats departing at 6:30 pm. Later, don’t miss the awards for Best Decorated, Most Lights, and Most Enthusiastic Elves (that’s the crew!). It’s a unique parade and it’s going to be a blast!
The holidays are always so much fun, and there are so many things to enjoy this year. Parades, food, shopping, music, lights and more…there will be something for everyone! Make sure to visit the Tybee for the Holidays website for more details to help with your holiday planning. We hope to celebrate the 2010 Holiday season, and ring in 2011, with you! See you there!
