The cottage fits right into its historic setting. This beautiful home was built by a successful African American post-bellum builder named John B. Savage. Our fabulous design consultant, Elizabeth Demos, filled the cottage with handpicked treasures from estate sales she searched throughout Savannah and Tybee. There are two wood burning fire places, for cozy evenings in, and the home is ground level, so it’s perfect for anyone needing to avoid a lot of climbing. You’ll enjoy soaring ceilings, beautiful heart of pine floors, and loads of art from amazing local artists, such as Bellamy and Catherine Lovett. The cozy cottage atmosphere beckons you to slow down and enjoy a little comfort…southern style.
History buffs will be in heaven at 519 East Harris! This cottage is mere minutes from everything Historic Savannah has to offer. The Beach Institute, built in 1867, is practically your next door neighbor! Leave the car behind in your private, off street parking and enjoy the city. Stroll down the majestic oak-lined streets to amazing attractions- it’s just a six minute walk to the famous Colonial Park Cemetery in one direction, and a ten minute walk to Forsyth Park in another! Enjoy beautiful days in the park just two minutes from your door in Troupe Square, or hit the road to other must see attractions. Just minutes away, tour the beautiful Bonaventure Cemetery, eat at the historic Pirates’ House Restaurant, and even enjoy the sights and shops of the world famous River Street…all just ten to twelve minutes from your doorstep!

And every bag helps support our sponsoring of guide and service dogs! The Savannah Dog Park is an easy four minute trip from home as well. And the best part? You can still escape to Tybee for a little island time. Your cottage is just under thirty minutes from Tybee’s beach bliss!
The cottage at 519 East Harris Street is a quiet city retreat. You even have your own private backyard to relax and unwind in after days full of tours and shopping. 519 East Harris Street has off street parking with enough space for two cars, and there is also meter-free parking in from of the home. Stay as connected as you like to with our complementary high speed internet and WiFi, or just sit back and let the world pass you by. If eating out isn’t really your style, stay in and enjoy the fully equipped kitchen, complete with everything you need to make amazing meals without ever leaving home.
519 Harris Street is the perfect place to experience the classic southern city of Savannah the way it was truly meant to be, but his jewel of a cottage still needs a proper name…and that’s where you come in!
