Please make time to view an extraordinary photography exhibit at Fort Pulaski. This is the time of year when we celebrate American’s birthday and the best of summer is in full swing. Fort Pulaski National Monument is hosting a special exhibit by Tybee Island photographer and resident, Shannon Christopher. The exhibit, entitled “The Muse,” features photographs taken by Christopher throughout Fort Pulaski and Cockspur Island. The show will present 15 individual mounted and framed pieces along with a 3’ x 5’ composite of 32 images, all taken with an iPhone. Mermaid Cottages has just the right window of opportunity open for you to come and be inspired by The Muse. Our Horsepen Creek Cottage & Dock circa 1949 is available July 20 and 30, so come be apart of our vibrant arts and social scene and then come back later when you can stay longer.
Horsepen Creek Cottage & Dock circa 1949 is ideal for families, girls getaways or even just a getaway for two. Access the beach with a 15-minute walk or a quick bike or car ride.
The back yard is fully fenced in, making it great for small children and small dogs. The covered outdoor patio with a ceiling fan and festive white-strung lights faces the marsh for incredible sunsets. Light a toasty fire in the outdoor terra cotta chimenea while glamping under the stars.
The cottage has a woodburning fireplace and comfy seating and it’s the perfect setting for your picturesque staycation. Come enjoy Shannon Christopher’s photography exhibit at Fort Pulaski and the cottage charm and coastal calm of Mermaid Cottages. This is the life!
