It’s time to hit the water, again, when Tybee floats for another great cause. Tybee Floatilla ‘Will Float for Friends’ on Sunday, August 24th. Plan to meet us over at the Alley 3 Kayak Launch at 2:00 p.m. We’ll shove off promptly at 2:30 p.m. and we’ll arrive at the Crab Shack by 6:00 p.m. This float will be in memory of Frank Schuman, Sr. benefitting the Fresh Air Home. Every summer the Fresh Air Home (FAH) opens its doors to hundreds of Savannah area children! The mission of the Home is to improve the health of the children, to build character, and to help them grow into better men and women — both physically and morally.
Be sure to plan to stay over Sunday night because there’s also a Free Admission Day at Fort Pulaski. This Fort Pulaski entrance fee-free day is Monday, August 25th. The entrance fee waiver does not cover amenity or user fees for things like camping, boat launches, transportation, or special tours. It’s also a great weekend to enjoy an end of summer stay in one of your favorite cottages.
Sea Stars Cottage circa 1932 is a Historic Tybee Raised Cottage on the beach side Butler and just one block from the beach. Pet guests are always welcome here and there’s a fully fenced yard. A favorite feature for our guests is the wrap around porch with rocking chairs.
Flips Flop House is a fully restored and renovated historic Tybee beach cottage. Guests love the outdoor shower, the bike rack and two awesome porches to enjoy. It’s located in the quiet, Back River district of the island and it has a gorgeous partial view of the Back River from porch!
Please come join us when the Tybee Floatilla floats for another great cause. You’ll enjoy the best of Tybee Island during the quiet, latter part of summer and you can also enjoy a Free Admission Day at Fort Pulaski. Call now and we’ll even help plan your visit!
