Mermaid Cottages and novelties are a match made more perfect when you visit and admire them during your stays. Some cottages are solely decorated by their owners and sometimes owners ask us to add a few mermaid touches here and there. Other times, our guests have such special bonds with their favorite cottages we often find secret baubles and mementos they leave behind and that’s okay. One of the greatest pleasures we enjoy is when our guests love our happy little houses as much as we do. Here are some of our favorite geegaws, gimcracks and objets d’art. Most of our cottages have hand-painted signs, usually created by a local Tybee Island artist. Crabby Pirate is a value-priced cottage located directly on the marsh. It’s filled with bright, beachy décor and has great marsh views. There’s a fenced yard for your furmaids and outdoor seating for bird watching, too.
Most of our cottages are historic and/or vintage. Often times just taking hold of an antique doorknob becomes the start of an intimate journey back to simpler times. This original Tybee cottage is from the 1950s. It’s pet-friendly and it’s ideal for a small family, a couples retreat, honeymooners, and solo travelers.

The owner of this amazingly bright, cheerful cottage mixes curiosities from her travels with her own personally created art and other whim-wham from local Tybee Island artists. You’ll love discovering her very thoughtful touches inside and out. You’ll find even more on the screened porch and around the back deck and yard. Enjoy discovering them while admiring the partial marsh views and her garden.
