Over a million people nation-wide will recognize this April as Parkinson’s Awareness Month and as National Kite Month. To that we say, “Go fly a kite on Tybee Island, will ya!”
The Savannah Parkinson’s Support Group and North Beach Bar & Grill invite all you kite lovers and spectators to join us in raising awareness of our community support groups for Parkinson’ Disease, Essential Tremor, Multiple Sclerosis, Huntington’s Disease and other movement disorders.
First, there’ll be a Silent Dinner and Auction at North Beach Bar & Grill on Thursday, April 24th, from 6-8 p.m. Items up for auction include kites, local artwork and jewelry. Then, on Sunday, April 27th, the Kite Festival takes place. It’s from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. in the Tybee North Beach Parking Lot.
If someone tells you to go fly a kite just come on out to go fly a kite on Tybee Island. It’s National Kite Month and we’re raising awareness of Parkinson’s and other movement disorders.
