All Aboard the Tybee Island Shuttle!

All Aboard! Mermaid Cottages wants all of our guests and all the visitors to our island to know about the new shuttle service between Savannah and Tybee Island. That’s right- you can now travel between Savannah and Tybee without every having to get behind the wheel of your own car!

preview from the Shuttle Brochure!

Shuttle service started back in March, and the entire island is all a buzz about it. The shuttle departs from the Savannah Visitors Center daily at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 2.p.m., and 5 p.m. The first stop on Tybee Island in the Tyrbisa/Strand Roundabout, the the North Beach area, near the Lighthouse. The vehicle will wait about 5 minutes at each stop, so make sure you are there on time so you don’t get left behind!

The fare is $3 per person, each way. That’s just a $6 round trip, so it’s super affordable. It’s also a great way to use public transportation to be more green!  If you are interested in using the shuttle, or just want to learn more, make sure to check out the brochure here for all the details.

All of Tybee Island is excited about the new service, and we hope you are too. Now there’s no excuse- catch a shuttle to Tybee Island! We hope to see you soon!

Mermaid Sighting: Harris Street, Savannah

We had such a blast a few weekends ago in Savannah at the 187th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration and Parade! Well, what holiday is complete without a mermaid? This festive mermaid makes her home in Savannah at East Harris Street!

Gorgeous, and decked out in St. Patty’s Day garb! How fun is that? I hope she enjoyed the celebrations as much as everyone else did!

If you have seen a mermaid, please tell us about it! Send your picture and a little information about it to diane@mermaidcottages.com and we’ll share it right here on our blog for everyone to enjoy!

How ’bout a nice, big, sloppy, wet kiss!

Friday, January 21 through Sunday, January 23, Coastal Pet Rescue will have a booth at the Lowcountry Living Home and Garden Show at the Savannah Trade Center.

Come to Dogwarts to meet Snifferin, Kittendor and Ruffentuf and Ravenpaw and other residents of area foster homes and hopefully you’ll make a magical match!  If you’re not quite ready to adopt, donate 50 cents for a kiss from a puppy and all proceeds will go towards veterinary care for rescued pets!

Admission to attend the Home and Garden show is $8 and you can even get a $1 off coupon at http://www.showtechnology.com/coupon_reg.html.

Volunteers to help with the event are always welcome!
