These are New England beach cottages in the charming sea side community called Crescent Beach where we stayed just outside the little town of Mattapoisett, MA. I couldn’t stop taking pictures of these cottages that were out of a movie set! The cedar shakes, the touches of occasional color ( but still mostly New England Gray everywhere) the salt worn picket fences….and look at the anchors on the shutters!
Mattapoisett also features a 38-feet tall seahorse named Salty built in the 1940’s at the entrance to the town. Gotta love a community that keeps such roadside memorabilia alive!
Here’s a website to also visit which is very helpful in planning your own road trips throughout this great country of ours. http://www.roadsideamerica.com/
