
Everyone at Mermaid Cottages is so excited! Peter Polites, owner of Mermaid Cottages’ very own Tybee Daze Cottage, has a wonderful exhibit premiering soon!
Architect and artist Peter Polites (Puh-light’-us) lives in Atlanta. Founder of Polites Associates Architects, his work in both professions has been influenced by growing up in Savannah, Georgia’s old world beauty. As the architect of the art museum on the Hudson River, an Olympic monument, and scores of commercial and residential projects around the country, Polites believesa nurturing architectural environment can positively impact health and behavior.

His painting career spans over 50 years, exploring our relationship to the natural and psychological landscape. His work heightens awareness of nature’s importance in our lives. Polites’ paintings appear in public and private collections around the US and in Europe, and now, you can see his work for yourself!
WAVES: New Paintings by Peter Polites is a solo exhibit at the Millennium Gate Museum in Atlanta. The exhibit opens October 4th and will be on view through November 5th. During this time, 20 stunning landscapes will be on display,

including golden marsh sunrises and ocean scenes. Museum admission is $10 and there are even discounts available for seniors and children. Extended gallery hours for this exhibit are Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The museum is closed Sunday and Monday. You also won’t want to miss the special tour scheduled for Saturday, October 22nd; the public is invited to tour the WAVES exhibit with the artist himself! This tour begins at 2 p.m. and museum admission is even free that afternoon!
