There’s always something going on around the Tybee Island and Savannah area, and this week is no exception. This Tuesday, January 10th, is the Harris Street Hoopla in Historic Downtown Savannah! Harris Street is home to the beautiful Savannah Sea Maiden Cottage as well as Savannah Shutterbug Cottage, and this Tuesday is your chance to tour both. You’re invited to pop in to enjoy a glass of wine and a chance to view two gorgeous downtown treasures!
Savannah Sea Maiden Cottagewas built by a successful African American post-bellum builder named John B. Savage. The cottage is filled with handpicked treasures from estate sales found throughout Savannah and Tybee. You’ll admire soaring ceilings, beautiful heart of pine floors, and loads of art from amazing local artists, such as Bellamy and Catherine Lovett, during your tour. Savannah Sea Maiden will also be included on the 2012 Savannah Tour of Homes! You won’t regret dropping by and spending some time in this special cottage.
The Savannah Shutterbug Cottage is a beautiful one bedroom cottage, so-named because it was the studio of one of Savannah’s most well-loved wedding photographers. The entire cottage features original photography from Donna Von Bruening‘s travels both near and far! The studio has been turned into a quiet escape in the middle of the city. The Shutterbug was just renovated and beckons its guests to slow down and enjoy the contemporary yet cozy southern atmosphere.
